Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)

Dr. Marissa graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX in 2020 after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Marissa is certified in dry needling, functional soft tissue mobilization, and has taken additional courses in vestibular treatment, wound care, and concussion management.

Dr. Marissa’s treatment philosophy includes an emphasis on overall patient wellness, with the use of manual therapy, detail-orientated instruction, empathy, and focus on positive outcomes to achieve patient’s goals. Her main motivation is to keep her patients healthy and get them back to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. Marissa is on track to further specialize in pelvic floor physical therapy through the American Association of Physical Therapy (APTA) to address men and women’s health issues relating to pelvic floor dysfunction, including incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain, and pre/post-partum complications. When she is not treating in the clinic, Dr. Marissa enjoys playing sports such as sand volleyball and participates in co-ed softball leagues in her spare time. She loves to stay active in any way she can and loves spending time with her husband and aussiedoodle puppy named Dexter.
